Physical DescriptionColorless, with matte red and blue enamels, and gilding; blown (probably into cylindrical mold), perhaps acid-fumed, enameled and gilded, applied. Jar with lid. (a) Jar: cylindrical. Rim plain, rounded; wall vertical, curving in at bottom; base plain, slightly concave, with flat circular disk at center. Top of rim and interior have matte surface. Wall and most of base covered with all over pattern of contiguous isosceles triangles arranged in groups speckled with red, groups speckled with blue, groups that are mostly gold, and areas that are only gold, the gold being highly fragmented; at center of base, narrow, radiating "petals", arranged in four groups, the blue and red groups alternating; one gold stripe descends from rim to bottom of wall, crosses base, divides in two, and ascends wall to rim; disk under base, which is colorless and matte, overlies gilding and enamel. Two small paper labels under base: "KR4-207" and "3". (b) Lid: flat circular disk of black lacquer, with rabbet on underside around edge and on upper surface, at center, loop handle of black-painted metal.Provenance
