Physical DescriptionDiamond Shaped Bead. Opaque red glass with inlays of opaque white, "black", and colorless glass, and gold leaf; red bead formed around wire, inlaid with preformed "eyes" consisting of gold and colorless element (gold sandwich technique?) cased in opaque white and "black"; apparently finished by grinding. Bead: octahedron (parallelepiped with two rhomboid faces in parallel planes, each with two opposite angles truncated, and with all other faces perpendicular to them); perforation, D: almost 0.2 cm, through longer axis; each rhomboid face inlaid with four circular "eyes," D: 0.3 cm, with gold leaf at center, overlaid with colorless and surrounded by opaque white and "black".Provenance
