Physical DescriptionTransparent dark green lead glass; blown, cut, enameled, gilt; stamped metal mount. (a) Flat-sided shape of square cross-section; short neck with molded gilt metal collar, tapered inside for a stopper (b); rounded shoulders with gilt arrowhead decoration; flat sides decorated in colorful enamels and gilding with (on one panel), an exotic bird with flowering tree and plant, on another, a house with trees, and two butterflies overhead, and on two sides, floral sprays; the corners and bottom edge beveled; polished, flat base. (b) Tapered, ground shank; polished flat, rounded stopper, originally with gilt arrowhead decoration.
