Physical DescriptionOpaque chartreuse and cobalt cased on both sides in colorless, opaque red, polychrome enamels; blown, decorated with enamels in two applications, two firings. Large bucket-shape vessel with heavy opaque red lip wrap, chartreuse interior, cobalt exterior; slightly flared rim, swollen body decorated with broadly-painted polychrome scene of an angel (yellow halo, orange robe, orange and blue wings, bare feet) and a horned devil (red with white details) sitting on green straight chairs opposite each other at a yellow round table with clawed feet, green lampshade with bulb hangs overhead, both figures are holding hands of playing cards, deck of cards on table, enamel decoration has some texture, details have been incised through wet color before firing; rounded base, no foot, ground and polished pontil; inscribed in script around pontil: "Catherine Thompson 1991/Poker Game".Provenance
