Physical DescriptionColorless glass; molten glass poured on a marver or mold, tooled, possibly sandblasted. Irregular, but roughly circular, slightly concave, thick plates with marks from overlapped pourings; each plate decorated on underside with deeply impressed design of loosely knotted rope of fine twisted strands, design extends from protruding section of one side and extends approximately 3/4 across diameter; chill marks on underside of each plate; (A) two strands extend to interior from edge, form a single loose knot, then each twisted length continues to extend and flare apart, ending as two loops; (B) two strands form a knot in the shape of a wide figure-8 (square knot?), ends in a single loop; (C) two lengths loosely knotted three times ending in a single, almost circular large loop; (A) engraved on underside, between rope ends, near edge: "O.C"; (B) signature not located; (C) in white applied block letters near edge: "CO".Provenance
