Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass and glass enamel; blown, air-brushed and brushed enamel. Vase with wide opening with fire-polished lipless rim swelling to form shoulder of vessel, shoulder curves down gradually into walls that taper into wide flat base; interior has been sprayed with pale ochre and amethyst enamels to create mottled background; exterior enameled with stylized motifs outlined in ochre, rim has narrow band of ochre, two trees on opposite walls extend from base and are cut off at rim, trees have diamond-shaped leaves and dark blue overall coloration, between trees on opposite sides are female sitting nudes, each with nude child, one female has short cropped hair, folded legs, one arm bends across her body with hand bent up towards head, head is turned away from her outstretched arm that grasps erect child turned away from her; opposite female is depicted in profile, she has rolled hairstyle or head decoration, bent legs, raised arms extend together to hold sitting child, outlines of figures filled in with creamy white with ochre details; wide band of ochre ground at base; slightly concave ground and polished base, ground and polished pontil; ochre enamel on the polished pontil: "M.
