Physical DescriptionTransparent blue tint, colorless, opaque non-lead glass; aluminosilicate, borosilicate, stainless steel; mold blown by machine, stamped, pressed; a) cylindrical shape; machine finished top rim with pinched and curled lip; neck rounds out to body 0.5cm from top; body has a channel around its circumference one quarter of the way down from the rim to the base; metal band in channel, "STAINLESS" stamped into band; detachable handle attached to body by metal attachment, band and screw; "STAINLESS" and PYREX FLAMEWARE trademark stamped into metal attachment; octagonal cylindrical handle with "A22" pressed into it, handle has rounded top and flat base; base of pot flat, PYREX FLAMEWARE trademark including item number "7829B" stamped and old catalog number "75.128d" inscribed onto bottom; b) flange knob; rim of greater diameter than cylindrical insert, old catalog number "438.82a" inscribed underneath rim; "7829-C" and "A-6" pressed into insert, insert has two semicircular tabs, one opposite the other; underside of lid has four bumps inside raised scallop edged circle, "PYREX" and "MADE IN U.S.A." pressed into underside; c) thin cylindrical tube with wide base; machine finished top rim; near middle of stem the body is bulbous; domed base with machine finished rim; two small notches in base rim, one opposite the other; "PYREX" and "8106" pressed into base bottom, old catalog number "75.128a" inscribed on bottom; d) cylindrical shape; body has machine finished rim; neck rounds out to body 1.3cm from top rim; bottom of body rounded in; flat perforated base, old catalog number "75.128b" inscribed on edge of base, center of base pushed up into body to form cylindrical tube; tube rim machine finished.Provenance
