Physical DescriptionOpaque white and colorless non-lead glass, glass-ceramic (Pyroceram); white metal; black plastic; mold-blown by machine, pressed; a) cylindrical shaped carafe; metal band with rim over top of carafe; metal rim flared out and has pinched lip, is angled so lip at tallest end; handle attached to metal band, is opposite lip, has upside down "L" shape, rectangular hole with open bottom in top of handle; glass body of carafe slightly rounded out then in; "6/5/4/3/2" and measuring marks printed onto carafe interior below lip; flat slightly depressed base, Corning Ware ® trademark printed in center; b) cylindrical cover; round glass knob with concave top, bottom of knob flared in then out to center of cover; top of cover slightly dished in; sides straight with two notches, notches opposite each other, dividing sides of cover into two halves, raised horizontal ridge around each half, two smaller rectangular protrusions below each ridge; c) circular immersion heater; top convex, hole in center, "16" stamped into bottom of hole; outer edge of heater top rounded down to base; cylindrical stem extends up from one side of heater, stem bent over about 90 degrees near top, pump basket attachment piece with "LIFT" stamped on it near area where stem bent; black plastic piece over end of stem, white circular bump on top, bottom has rectangular protrusion (fits into hole in top of handle) with electrical plug inside; heater has depressed flat circular base, "120 V.A.C. ONLY 400W: CORNING WARE ® P-6 UL[in circle]" molded into it near edge.Provenance
