Physical DescriptionGoblet. Colorless, transparent blue and gold-flecked ruby non-lead glasses; blown, cut, engraved; pewter. Conical bowl, covered with polished engraving: three wreathed roundels, one with three men (a trumpeter, a drummer, and another) with a city in the left background, drapery above; table covered with an elaborate table cloth, set with a large urn of flowers, and two covered goblets, a chair at the left side; and a scene of a man and woman, the woman offering a heart to the man in her outstretched left hand; pairs of facing, winged grotesques and elaborate floral swags between each panel; elaborate floral border at the bottom, engraved over panel faceting; merese above a faceted ovoid knop enclosing spiral threads of blue and gold-flecked ruby, merese and straight section below, spreading into a disc on the top of the foot; conical foot, covered with a domed pewter foot, ending in a zig-zag border on the inside, a turned incised ring near the rim; open on the underside to reveal a rough pontil mark on the glass foot.
