Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, cut, engraved, gilt. (a) Tall, straight sided, tapering bowl with waisted, panel-cut section at the base; gilt rim; bowl with two raised cut vertical panels at either side, decorated with finely engraved scrollwork and foliage, dividing the bowl into two sections; one with elaborate coat of arms, with crowned eagle supporters, each inscribed with a crowned "FR" on its breast; surrounded by an elaborate scrollwork frame border, incorporating fruit, flowers, foliage, urns, swag drapery, and minute landscape scenes at the corners; on the reverse, a large raised cut shell, with elaborately engraved interlaced bands, scrolls, and fish-scale patterns; outside covered with elaborate scrollwork; scalloped gilt band below; faceted flattened ball knop stem; slightly domed foot with gilt, faceted rim; rough pontil mark.
