Physical DescriptionColorless glass; blown or cast, wheel-cut and polished. Thick-walled vase with beveled rim that slopes in toward center; straight, slightly tapering wall; plain base, slightly concave underneath. Decorated with continuous frieze of schematically rendered humans and animals which extends from shortly below rim to shortly above base: (clockwise) (1) large standing figure, apparently shown frontally, wearing garment that extends almost to ankles; (2) and (3) near rim, two small four-legged animals, (2) facing left, (3) facing left but with head turned back to look at (2); (4), below them, figure, again apparently shown frontally and wearing long garment, brandishing stick or spear in right hand; (5) large horse-like animal facing left; (6), near rim, squarish object, possibly sun; (7), below it, small figure similar to (4) but without stick. None of figures has facial features, hands or feet; none of animals has facial features or hoofs; scratched signature below figure (1): "Harcuba 1959".
