Physical DescriptionTransparent, deep blue very bubbly glass with impurities; wear marks at base; free-blown, enameled and gilded. High pedestal foot with underfolded rim and rough pontil mark (?), cushioned knop, conical stepped lower body increasing in diameter towards upper third to become plain and to taper towards slightly flaring rim; the lower part of the body has apparently been patterned in a stepped mold (6 ribs); enamel decoration: on the upper plain section of the body a hunting scene, taking place on a slightly hilly strip of grass, with large grass tufts; a hunter in a brown coat with a spear over his right shoulder, is proceeding to the left with a white dog on a leash, before him another dog attacking a bear followed by another dog attacking a hare; above the scene: "ANNO 1597"; each of the ribs on the lower body bears a red and a yellow line; gilded band below rim, accompanied by two rows of white dots; on the foot an old catalogue number in red: "Lg 293".
