Physical DescriptionVase, "Disque Applati". Colorless with opaque black, red, gold and opal non-lead glasses; blown, applied cane drawing, furnace-worked and cased. Heavy-walled flattened disc shape with narrow circular flush opening; opaque black interior "pocket" thickly cased in colorless then overlaid on two broad sides with glass inclusions, enamels and fiberglass textile fragments producing a dichroic effect (gold in transmitted light, opal in reflected light), decoration then cased again in colorless; base ground flat with concave pontil; signed on base: "cl. monod 85.1.32" (year/month/number of piece).
