Physical DescriptionTranslucent glass; four panels painted in reverse in color. Panels depicting (1) two officials, (2) scholar and pupil (?), (3) two male figures, (4) woman and servant, each set in a carved black wood frame, all held together by ordinary brass fixtures at top and bottom; top enclosed by perforated brass square, whose raised circular center bears a strong metal carrying ring; metal suspension chains attach to each upper brass fixture of frame; strong brass rods, projecting through perforations at top, at corners, and ending in brass knobs, formerly held at their inward-bent bottom ends some lighting equipment now missing.Provenance
