The set of frames was purchased from Osler in the 1890s by Shahjahan Begum, the female ruler of the Bhopal state from 1844-1860 and 1868-1901. They remained in the family and were given as a bridal gift to Sahibzadi Faiza Sultan Begum (b. 1945) upon her marriage to Sardar Akbar Khan (b. 1942). The couple now lives in Dubai. Mr. Ashook Agrawal, whom Susan Ollemans represented, bought them from Ms. Sultan in 2015. Ms. Sultan has provided a letter, dated June 11, 2016, verifying that she was gifted "a pair of cut glass photo frames made by F & C Osler" by her parents for her wedding.
