Physical DescriptionVase, "Big Purple and Blue Lace". Aquamarine and purple tinted glass; blown, engraved, and then blown and hot-worked in a technique similar to graal. Blown outer vessel is diamond-engraved with pattern on the inside, bubble of glass then blown inside of the outer vessel and the combined pieces are hot-worked. Ovoid shape with tapering conical neck; flat polished rim; aquamarine neck; purple body with pattern of vertical rows of irregular elongated bubbles divided by rows of smaller bubbles; pattern ends just below centerline of vessel; flat polished base and pontil area; signed above base "Meredith Wenzel 1981.", in script.
