Physical DescriptionColorless lead glass; blown, cut, polished, engraved, acid-etched. Conical body with a waisted neck cut with vertical flutes, scalloped pouring spout, and an S-shaped handle attached to the rim and to the edge of the shoulder; a solid conical foot, cut beneath with a star. The body is etched with a mythological scene after an engraving by John Flaxman's from the Odyssey of Homer, depicting "The Council of Jupiter, Minerva, and Mercury". The image is framed above and below by etched bands of solid lines, dots, and scrolls alternating with dotted pendants.
