Physical DescriptionColorless glass; blown, relief-cut. Fragment from wall (Th. 0.1-0.15 cm) of vessel of uncertain form (see COMMENT). Decoration includes palmette on straight stem and following description assumes that stem is vertical and palmette points upward. If this is so, fragment is almost flat both vertically and horizontally, but about 3 cm from stem, on both sides it begins to curve in horizontal plane. Decoration (Th. 0.1 cm) consists of two hares, one on each side of palmettes, running from top to bottom of fragment with their legs close to palmette and stem, and their heads farther away. On each side of fragment, where wall begins to curve, raised border, which presumably enclosed panel containing symmetrical arrangement of hares and palmette. Ears, neck, and limbs of hares, and palmette, have transverse hatching; outlines of bodies of hares and border are notched.
