Physical DescriptionColorless, with small bubbles. Blown and relief-cut. Beaker shaped like truncated cone. Rim plain, with lip ground smooth; wall almost straight, tapering; base is plain, with narrow splayed foot ring; no pontil mark. Wall decorated in relief with horizontal frieze defined at top and bottom by continuous ribs 1.8 and 7.3 cm below rim. Frieze contains three animals shown in profile, running from right to left. Each animal is different. From right to left, animal 1 has its head down as if looking at its chest; neck is large and bent; body is relatively small; one foreleg is extended forward; hind leg is bent; tail is raised and forks, terminating in one spiral and one pointed oval motif. Animal 2 is similar, but with head up and forked tail terminating in two half-palmettes. Animal 3 has pointed snout and raised wing. All three animals have hatching on heads, feet, and tails, and notched outlines.
