Physical DescriptionPossibly Fragments of Goblet with Birds and Inscription. Colorless or almost colorless. Blown (two gathers); relief-cut. Two fragments of goblet(?): (b) wall (Th. 0.2 cm) of bowl is straight and tapering; (a) horizontal flange near bottom of wall, below which it tapers with convex profile; short, solid “stem,” which splays at bottom and has smooth underside (see below). (b) is decorated in relief (Th. 0.1 cm) with horizontal rib (D. about 7 cm), presumably upper border of frieze, below which is part of bird seen in profile, facing left. It has body with rounded tail, wing represented by half-palmette, and two short legs with triangular feet.Provenance
