Interpretive Notes
The Blaschkas used preformed parts when they created some of their models. These parts include anemone bodies, sea jelly domes, and the central disks of sea stars. The Blaschkas used many different techniques to achieve great variety in shape, size, color, and ornate detail.
Physical DescriptionPart of Glass Model of Marine Animal. Colorless and red glass, yellow and red paint; flameworked, painted. Thin glass tube filled with powdery red paint set within a hollow ovoid shape lightly painted yellow. Yellow ovoid topped with four drops of red glass and set within a hollow colorless ovoid shape.
