Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, gilt, enameled. (a) Bowl of flattened globular shape with slightly flared, straight rim; applied handle, drawn flat and rolled at the end around a straight rod; tall, trumpet shape foot with down-folded rim; decoration at the bowl and foot rim consists of a band of linked ovals in gold foil, with red enamel dots at each center, and six white enamel dots around them, bordered with rows of blue and white enamel dots above and below; with a band of joined white and red dots and blue dots on either side of a wide gilt band with white enamel scales, each with red, blue and green dots within; the handle with red enamel spots surrounded with rings of white spots, against a gold ground; rough pontil mark on the underside of the bowl, inside the foot. (b) Flattened ovoid shape, with inset, tapered rim; flared applied rim on the top, with down-folded edge; enamel decoration of repeated geometric decoration composed of two vertical green bars, spanned with brown bars on the tops, with white enamel dots, against a conforming gold ground, with red dots and a ring of blue dots above; the flared rim decorated with rings of white and green enamel dots against a gold ground; on the top of the cover, within the flared rim are two coats of arms (a black shield with an arrow and two six-pointed stars in yellow; a white shield containing a three-armed black spiral centered with a yellow flower), a white foliate sprig, the date "1.5.1.2", and a band of white dots on a red band; rough pontil mark on the inside of the cover. (c) Flattened ovoid shape with inset, tapered rim; applied circular disk on the top; enameled decoration matching the geometric elements on (b), with rows of blue, white and red enamel dots above; on the applied disk, a coat of arms with a lion rampant against a blue shield, the date "16/15.", and a band of red with white dots at the edge; small, rough pontil mark on the inside.
