Physical DescriptionGlass Panel, "Saint John the Baptist". Opaque orange, opaque red and black details non-lead glasses; three types of red glass fused together in an investment (gypsum and flint). Rectangular panel with irregular edges and vertical format; in low relief the stylized head of a bearded man with large eyes and long hair cuts in at a slight angle from front left side, this side of panel is orange except for a section of red at top including upper right corner area, red bits at tip of nose and cheek, hair and lips have some black detailing, overall mottled surface of mold; back of panel is smooth with red splotches at center and striations at top and bottom edges, narrow broken line of black along one long edge; tool marks on edges and scattered broken off extensions; unsigned.Provenance
