Physical DescriptionFragment of a Floral Plaque. Translucent greyish medium blue matrix with assorted canes of opaque red, opaque yellow, opaque white, translucent green, translucent yellow-green and translucent pale amethyst glass; mosaic glass or millefiori technique. Badly weathered and pitted fragment, portion of finished edge on either side still preserved, backing glass of multi-colored strips predominantly green, red and yellow, smooth but bubbly. Central design consists of three poppy-like flowers, central yellow-green and green on a yellow stock, on either side a stalk with red bulb, above is a large circular yellow fruit or flower center badly pitted with radiating petals of yellow, perhaps not unlike the large flower in 50.1.40; on either side are star-like flowers with round centers of green glass containing red dots surrounded by six pointed white leaves.
