Physical DescriptionCologne Bottle. Clear very bubbly glass with a slight grey tinge; blown-two-mold; about 3 oz. container, with barrel shaped body, slightly concave base with a rough pontil mark and short cylindrical neck with flattened rim; the very rich baroque pattern which occupies the central body is framed top and bottom by bands of horizontal ribbing; the main frieze contains on one side a large medallion left free, on the reverse smaller medallion accompanied by volute motifs and containing the initials (?), the initials seem to include the letters F, possibly R and C; the initials seem to be like the ones on the original cologne bottles made by Farina, Cologne, the spaces between the medallions are occupied by baroque-like tendrils, branches and volute ornaments (medallion is used for paper label).Provenance
