Physical DescriptionClear glass with few small bubbles;free-blown, cut and engraved with enameled and gilded set-in medallions. Slightly conical body with ground rim; at bottom broad and small flutes, below rim a band of narrow flutes, surmounted by engraved arrows; set- in medallion at body: at the outside golden flowers on a blue background and six ovals with saints, gold on red; in the center Saint Anne with Saint Mary, surrounded by Saint Rosalia the Younger, Saint Joseph, Saint Theresa, Saint Barbara and Saint Francis; at the inside the inscription, engraved in a silver leaf: "Himmel hast Du einen Segen, der volkommen gluecklich macht o so sei er meined-wegen, der Famili zugedacht", with a monogram "J. W." (heaven, if you have a blessing which makes completely happy, than as far as I am concerned, it might be destined to the family); the medallion at the bottom has on the inside on a red background the golden symbols of the raftsmen-guild of Fuernberg: a tree with a raft and an oar, flanked by the initials "A. R." and "F. R." and surrounded by two branches bound together; the signature, engraved in a silver leaf, is on the outside: "Verfertiget zu Gutenbrunn, im von Fuernbergischen grossen Weinspergwald, 1794, Mildner fec. (made at Gutenbrunn, in the von Fuernbergischen big Weinsperg-Forest, 1794. Mildner fecit).Provenance
