Physical DescriptionBottle with Stopper, "The Glow Within". Blown and flameworked glass, sandblasted, acid-etched. Opaque blown glass vessel (a) with an opaque black flameworked figural stopper (b). The bottom portion of the vase is golden yellow with red, black and blue inclusions. The golden yellow color transitions in flame-like shapes to opaque red on the top part of the vase with black inclusions. The body of the vase bulges slightly at the shoulder, and then the neck tapers in to a very thin neck and a slightly flared lip with black trim. The opaque black glass stopper is mounted to an opaque black flameworked glass branch, angled to the side, on to which a flameworked glass bird is perched. The opaque bird has a bright yellow tail, a black head, yellow eyes, green and yellow spots, and a few yellow and black line decorations. Stopper has a very long shaft, similar to a perfume bottle dabber.Provenance
