Physical DescriptionAlmost colorless, but with green tint; few small bubbles. Blown; relief-cut. Bottle: cylindrical. Rim with flat top and small external bevel; neck has cylindrical, slightly tapering upper part, below which it expands and is roughly hemispherical; shoulder slopes and has rounded edge; wall descends vertically before curving in at bottom; base plain; no pontil mark. Decorated on neck, shoulder, wall, and base. On neck: upper part is cut in seven flat vertical facets; lower part has seven contiguous hollow oval facets above continuous horizontal groove. On shoulder: shallow "step" at mid-point and continuous narrow band of finely incised cross hatching at edge. On wall: in large letters, pseudo-Kufic inscription, above continuous horizontal rib; below inscription, near bottom of wall, band of nine contiguous hollow oval facets. On base: shallow disk.Provenance
