Physical DescriptionExtremely heavy colorless glass with a few bubbles, blown, applied, tooled decoration. (a) High domed pinched rim to form a rosette-shaped motif, rough pontil mark in center, flattened and cushioned ball knop stem, round funnel bowl; larger part of bowl has a thread pattern tooled to form diamonds and nip't-diamond-waies with guilloche chain at top, a second guilloche band has been applied between rim and palmettes. (b) Set-in and highly domed cover finial resting on a merese; on the cover there is a similar festoon and nip't-diamond-waies pattern, the ring finial is ribbed coil-like.Provenance
