Physical DescriptionBowl with Claw Decoration, "Montataire Bowl". Transparent green glass; blown, applied, cracked-off. Green glass hemispherical bowl. Everted rim, cracked-off and polished. Spheroid body. Applied raised zigzags in same color as body of the vessel, between two horizontal lines. Four thick vertical bands of applied glass, with horizontal crimping, dividing the widest part of the bowl into four quadrants. Each quadrant has a shallow hollow-blown ‘claw’ decoration. Horizontal line of applied glass at the base of the claws and crimped bands, as the bowl starts to narrow toward the base. Flared ring foot. No pontil mark visible.
