Physical DescriptionOlive amber glass; mold-blown; plain lip, pontil mark. Obverse: designs on oval panels; horse and cart on rail with inscription "SUCCESS TO THE RAILROAD"; similar to GV-3 but the letters are more delicate in modeling and slightly smaller. The placement of the inscription relative to the horse and cart is different; also the panels in wagon box are plain. Reverse: large American Eagle lengthwise, head turned to left; wings partly raised and spread; shield with seven vertical and two horizontal bars on breast. Thunderbolt (three arrows) in eagle's left talons, olive branch in right. Eagle in high relief; seventeen large five-pointed stars surround eagle. Edges: vertically ribbed, heavy medial rib.Provenance
