This goblet shows the coat of arms of Norway and Denmark.

Physical DescriptionClear heavy glass; wear marks at base; free-blown, cut, engraved and gilded. Spreading pedestal foot with rough pontil mark, heavily knopped composite stem with large flattened knop with tears at center, large thistle bowl; cut decoration: circlets of short flutes around top of foot, one merese of the stem cut to form a polygon, large knop and a smaller one at top of stem faceted, bottom of bowl cut in small panels and in flutes in relief, circlet of ovals around rim; on the bowl an engraved coat-of-arms (on the shield: a lion - 2 walking lions - a goose - a horse with ride - a shield with 3 crowns and 3 nails - in the center a small shield with two crosses and bars), on the other side a mirror-monogram (WPC ?) with a royal crown; rims, the engraving, partly the flutes on foot and at bottom of bowl and the faceted knops are gilded.
