Physical DescriptionWineglass. Colorless glass of yellowish tinge and full of minute bubbles, red and green-blue trim; free-blown, applied and tooled decoration, diamond-scratched engraving. Conical bowl, wide at rim and tapering sharply to small base at applied elaborate stem having a double dragon between slender shanks; figure "8" dragons formed from heavy red, white and colorless twists, green-blue heads and pincered or quilled bands along outside edges; wide thin circular foot; small rough pontil mark; diamond-scratch engraving: on bowl, delicate stylized flower, leaf, and tendril circlet above genre decoration with single tall flourishing thistle, leafy plant and small flower forming four zones--dancing children (on obverse); "Dutch" bagpiper (on reverse); young couple hurrying toward children (side, right); middle-aged couple running toward children, man with left arm upraised (side, left); on foot, two large stylized flowers with leaves and tendrils.
