Physical DescriptionOpaque rather deep cobalt blue glass, bubbly, with two large areas of heavy pitting on body and foot, applied decorative trails of opaque yellow and opaque white glass; core-formed, trail decorated and tooled. Funnel rim decorated with single trail of white glass at edge tapers into a long, almost cylindrical neck decorated with two heavy trails of yellow glass just below the transition between rim and neck; below this a register is formed by two heavy trails of yellow glass marvered into the surface and filled with seven smaller trails of white glass, the entire register has been alternately dragged up and down ten times; the neck spreads out into a globular body which is decorated with two series of trails, the upper emphasizing the shoulder of the vessel, two trails of yellow separated by three trails of white have been dragged up toward the neck fourteen times to form a festooned or scalloped register which is duplicated on the lower portion of the body, leaving a band around the greatest diameter undecorated; a heavy trail of rather deep cobalt-blue glass was applied on the shoulder, pulled up into a long handle and joined on the neck at the two yellow relief trails; the trail decoration on the lower portion of the body was applied before the foot was completely fashioned, the underside of the foot shows paddling and tool marks, additional glass was added to the vessel before the trail decoration was applied and marvered in; after the festooned or scalloped decoration was completed the lower portion of the body was tooled to form a constriction, the base spreads down and out to form a short stem of medium height with a pad-shaped foot.Provenance
