Physical DescriptionPlaque with Lotuses and Palmettes. Canes of opaque yellow, opaque orange, red, translucent amethyst, translucent deep blue and translucent greenish-blue in an opaque white matrix, dull, pitted, one surface reground recently; mosaic glass or millefiori technique. Roughly square inlay with a four-petaled cloverleaf or rosette consisting of blue-green stems with a split orange-red leaf all cased in deep blue and surrounded by a stylized lotus and palmette motif, the palmette is primarily yellow cased with greenish-blue and orange-red leaves in turn outlined with amethyst, the volute of the palmette is deep blue and connects with the deep blue lotus bud, all in a white ground.Provenance
