Physical DescriptionMulticolored non-lead glass; lampworked, assembled. Cylindrical cardboard tube, with stamped, textured brownish-black paper cover; both ends with sleeves; one end with cylindrical eyepiece extension with circular opening, a small rectangular (?) glass lens over the opening; loose, fitted cardboard sleeve with textured paper covering matching that on the tube; the other end with brass sleeve and loose brass ring with six turned handles radially mounted on the sides; flat glass plates on the movable ring, containing an assemblage of pieces of glass rods of various colors and twists, and short lengths of colorless tubes sealed at either end, containing colored liquids; within the tube, two rectangular mirrors, mounted at an acute angle, giving the appearance of ten angular panels when viewed from the eyepiece; the tube mounted on a turned wood stem, screwed into a turned circular wood base.
