Physical DescriptionColorless lead glass, white sulphide; blown, encased, cut, molded sulphide, stamped metal mount. Domed, circular shape, with a convex octagonal panel on the front, enclosing a molded sulphide portrait of a man, facing slightly sinister, in military uniform (William I, King of the Netherlands); the reverse flat, inscribed in light brown "C.A"; sides with straight and curved prismatic cutting; back with pointed panels of cross-hatching; with fan cutting above; a plain rectangular panel below, and two panels of inverted fan cutting below that; cut oval pad foot; short cylindrical neck with tiny fitted stopper with vertical disk on top; ribbed silver sleeve on the neck, with hinged domed cover; a stamped (maker's ?) mark on the sleeve, perhaps "W".Provenance
