Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, cut; molded, encased sulphide. Waisted bowl; cut plain rim; straight-sided, tapered section with cut raised, rounded panels, with panels cut on the waisted section below; octagonal, convex, cut panel on the front, enclosing an oval white ceramic (sulphide) medallion, with raised Cardinal's coat of arms, with a Cardinal's hat and tassels above a shield bearing a castellated aqueduct (?) on a horizontally ribbed field, with crown and double cross above, and medal below; inscribed in an arc above "ANTE RUET QUAN. NOSTRA FIDES"; base of the bowl with cut complex curves on projecting pads; panel-cut, six-sided stem, with a waisted section above a squared knop with internal bubbles, waisted below, and flaring to the foot rim; petal-cut rim; cut radial grooves on the underside, with angular panels of fan cutting alternating with plain, concave panels.Provenance
