Physical DescriptionTransparent amethyst, transparent amber and opaque red striations and spots, possibly some other colors distorted by overall purplish iridization, glass, metal (probably brass); bubble decorated with applications blown into molds, iridized; fabricated with metal. Large low circular covered box with domed lid, overall deep iridescent amethyst coloration with red trailing and spotted decoration: (a) base is a shallow disc with upturned sides that taper slightly inward, base rim is covered with wide flat metal (appearing brass) ring; slightly concave base, no pontil, white felt dots adhered to outer edge to prevent abrasion; (b) broad domed top has trailed red decoration loosely spiraling out from large blob located slightly off-center; fitted with metal rim ring with stepped flange to fit within base rim, no pontil; inscribed in script on underside of lid: "Jack Ink/2137".Provenance
