Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, cut, stained. (a) Colorless glass with lavender stain; ovoid form with rounded foot rim, applied loop handle; bowl with five circular, lavender-stained panels, each engraved: a mountain, inscribed "Schlossberg"; a church, inscribed "Dur"; a wreath, inscribed "Thekla/Spurnn"; a church, inscribed "Mariaschein"; and two churches, inscribed "Osseg b. Teplitz."; cut triangles above the circular panels, alternating with cross-hatched and strawberry-diamond cutting; below, a series of oval petals with hatched cutting and cut stars, with cross-hatched diamonds between the ovals; panel-cut below and on foot rim; cross-cut octagon on foot with lavender- stained fan cutting at edge; handle with cut herringbones and an oval lavender-stained panel inscribed "F.S."; (b) domed cover with inset cylindrical flange; flat-knob finial, lavender- stained and with flute cutting, on a waisted stem; cover with cut panels below finial and triangles of cut strawberry diamonds alternating with hatched triangles; notched rim.Provenance
