Physical DescriptionClear glass; heavily crizzled; free-blown, cut and engraved. (a) Domed foot with rough pontil mark, broad angular knop stem containing large tear, deep funnel-bowl; (b) set-in cover with oval knop finial surmounted by a flattened knop and containing a tear; stem and finial are faceted; on the bowl the coat-of-arms of the Duke of Wied, on the reverse a tree planted in a vase and flanked by two leaf scrolls, band of notched scales in relief with central rosettes and accompanied at top by an arched row of small disks around bottom of body, row of minute disks around rim, stylized leaf wreath around curved section of cover.
