Physical DescriptionAlmost colorless, with yellowish green tinge; few small bubbles. Blown; relief-cut. Fragment of bowl(?) with flat base (Th. near edge, after cutting, 0.15 cm, and near center, also after cutting, 0.35 cm). Decorated in relief, presumably on underside, with roundel defined by raised concentric rib (D. about 8 cm) containing bird seen in profile, facing left. Head is missing, but tip of pointed beak (?) and part of long, curving crest (?) survive, latter extending back and down, terminating in point, and decorated with herringbone pattern of cuts; curving hatched line separates head from body; breast and belly indicated by curving notched line; leg nearer viewer has long, ovate shoulder, pointed at bottom and cut in form of three overlapping scales, with lower leg indicated by straight line and foot appearing as hatched oval; other leg represented by straight line and hatched oval foot; wing nearer viewer is either extended or folded, with covert represented by raised line in form of reversed C, and wing itself by hatched triangular area; other wing is extended in front of breast and consists of raised line terminating in curl and hatched triangular area; both triangles are roughly isosceles, with concave bases. Above crest(?), rounded end of unidentified motif.
