Physical DescriptionBottle or Decanter with Screw-on Cap. Colorless glass; free-blown, engraved and gilded. (a) Fat inverted chestnut-shaped body with long cylindrical neck threaded below sheared lip and above applied collar or neck ring, sloping oval foot formed from band applied around bottom of body, shallow conical kick-up in base of body; small rough pontil mark; deeply engraved and gilded decoration on body: on obverse, in three lines, "VIVA" "LVD" "XV" between crossed sparse sprays of leaves and stemmed berries; on reverse, between similar sprays, device having crown with fleur de lis above shield with three fleur de lis (only the one at right having the end below the bar); on each end, stylized flower and leaf motif; pinnate-leaf circlet around middle of neck. (b) Disc topped screw-on cap with small polished pontil mark on top.
