Physical DescriptionMedium blue glass matrix, bubbly with light brown weathering product over much of surface, applied trails of opaque white and opaque yellow glass; core-formed, trail decorated and tooled. Short cylindrical rim decorated with heavy applied trail of yellow glass rises out of a column capital formed from nine rounded leaves which have been tooled and worked out of glass added to the long cylindrical column shaft; the edges of the leaves and the division of the underside is highlighted by an applied trail of yellow glass; the shaft is divided from the capital by a trail of yellow glass wound five times and left in relief; the column shaft spreads out somewhat toward the base and the entire surface is decorated with alternating heavy trails of yellow glass dividing smaller multiple trails of white glass into seven registers, the weathering obliterates the exact pattern; the base spreads out and is lens-shape with a flattened trail of yellow applied around the base of the column, the rounded base makes the vessel unstable.Provenance
