Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, cut, engraved. (a) Ovoid bowl; cut plain rim; panel-cut sides; one panel with cut rays in the corners, a circular panel at the center with engraved bust- length portrait of a man, facing dexter, in military uniform, inscribed in script in an arc above "Feld Marschall Furst von Blucher"; three other panels with finely cross-hatched backgrounds and polished stars; rounded ribs between the panels; panel cutting at the base, with alternate angles notched, short, spreading, diamond-faceted stem; conical panel-cut foot; concave polished bottom, with cut radial grooves at the rim. (b) Domed form, with inset brim; faceted top, band of slanted cut grooves and oval facets at the edge; panel-cut and faceted conical finial; polished rim.Provenance
