Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, cut, engraved. Bell-shaped bowl, with flared rim and bulbous sides; cut, plain rim; oval panel on the front with view of a large house with a fence, trees, and horses in the foreground; inscribed below "THE HERMITAGE"; wide band of cross-cut diamonds on the sides; oval panel on the reverse, with circular cut facets arranged in a ring of six encircling one at the center; finely engraved sprays of foliage around the facets; panel cutting at the bottom of the bowl; spreading, thick foot with a band of cross-cut diamonds above a plain, recessed band, and a petal-cut band with cut panels on the underside; octagonal base with cut radial grooves.
