Physical DescriptionCornflower blue glass; mold-blown; plain lip, pontil mark. Obverse: Washington, classical profile bust with queue tied with three ribbons, facing left, narrow band of toga showing. Reverse: Taylor profile bust in uniform, facing left, four buttons on coat. Wide space between third and lowest button. Inscription: above Washington "THE FATHER OF HIS COUNTRY"; reverse above Taylor "GEN. TAYLOR NEVER SURRENDERS". Letters of inscriptions vary slightly from GI-40 and GI-40a. Edges: smooth.
