Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, blown-molded, cut, enameled. Four-lobed bowl with polished rim; panel-cut at the top; curved, with cut panels below; decorated with black enamel, upper part with chinoiserie scenes, including two men, one seated and holding a parasol, a group of buildings with fanciful bird flying overhead, a party of three people eating, one holding a bird perched on his finger, and three people with voluminous robes, insects flying overhead; scenes divided by fantastic rocks, palm trees and plants; lower part of the bowl with formal scrolls on each panel; stem with two mereses above a faceted and panel-cut inverted baluster, decorated with black bellflowers, stylized multi-petaled flowers, and formal scrolls; capstan at the base of the stem; circular foot with formal scroll border; cut oval and radial linear facets in a ring on the underside of the foot.Provenance
