Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, cut, double-walled, silver foil decoration. (a) Conical, straight-sided bowl; double-walled; the outer bowl reaching part way to the rim, the inner bowl with ledge rim; cut vertical flutes on the sides; silver foil decoration between the bowls; a narrow acanthus border at the top, flanked by straight lines; a wide band, below, with a boar hunt, with seven men on foot attacking the boar with pikes, a sword, and a rifle, assisted by seven dogs; straight bands below, a formal scroll and floral swag band, and a ring of acanthus leaves at the bottom, with a checkerboard circle in the center; stem with faceted ball knop encased within a silver sleeve, above a merese, and faceted inverted baluster with basal capstan section; circular foot with a wreath of cut ovals and pairs of grooves on the underside. (b) Domed form with double- walled domed section on top; silver decoration matching the formal swag border, acanthus leaves, and checkerboard circle on (a); faceted pedestal finial with domed, star-cut top mounted on the dome covering the silver foil decoration; the lower section with panel-cut facets on the rounded rim; tapered brim with polished, flat edge.Provenance
