Physical DescriptionColorless glass with olive tinge; cover with green-greyish tinge; both with few bubbles and refractory stones; blown, applied. Funnel bowl, rounded to the bottom, with furnace-opened rim; attached with two solid knops to rope-twisted stem; upper third of stem shaped into heart with applied pincered trail wings. Blown foot with rough pontil mark. Below foot, traces of handwritten and underlined number (date?) “1673.” Flanged, dome-shaped cover with small, rough (sanded?) pontil mark inside; elaborate stem, supported by cap, hollow knop with 12 ribs, and two pincered glue-bits. Stem consisting of twisted cable, bent into a ring, with trailed and pincered fins on the sides, twisted strip crossing vertically in the middle, and twisted and pincered “flame” on top. The glass material of the wineglass and the cover differ from each other, as do the decorations of stem and finial. Nevertheless, the cover fits perfectly. Despite the color variations, the parts may share the same origin of production.
